Frequently Asked Questions

Before Your Session

Are you still available for my date?

  • I’d love to find a time that works for you! The best way to check availability is by submitting an inquiry through the contact form on my website.
  • While early morning and evening/sunset are popular choices for capturing that perfect light, I’m happy to work with your schedule and session type to find the best time.
  • When you reach out, let me know your preferred date and time, which package you're interested in, and any ideas you have in mind. The more you share, the better I can help make your vision a reality!

How long of a session do I need?

  • It really depends on what you’re hoping to get out of the session! That said, whether you’re after a quick and fun mini-session or something longer, I’ve got options to fit your vibe and budget.

Can I choose the location for our session?

  • Absolutely! I am happy to photograph at an outdoor location of your choice in the Albuquerque area, or I can also recommend my favorite locations! Popular locations include the Albuquerque bosque, foothills, and UNM central campus.

Do you offer discounts?

  • Yes! As a UNM alum, I offer a $50 discount on senior packages to graduating UNM students.

Do you charge extra for travel?

  • All of my packages include travel within the Albuquerque area for an outdoor location of your choice. For locations beyond 20 miles from my primary business address (6022 Constitution Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110), I charge the current IRS mileage rate per mile. If your event is 150+ miles away, a two-night hotel stay is also required at your expense. I’ll invoice these travel and lodging costs separately from your photography services at least 30 days before your event date. This helps ensure there are no surprises and that everything is settled well in advance. I’m happy to discuss further details for locations outside the Albuquerque area, so feel free to reach out!

How do I book?

  • Yay! It sounds like we’re a great match!
  • To get started, just fill out the contact form with your details. Once we’ve nailed down the perfect date and time, I’ll send over a secure invoice link for easy payment by credit or debit card.
  • To reserve your spot, a 20% nonrefundable retainer is required. The rest of the balance will be due on the day of your session—nice and simple!
  • If you need anything or have questions along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’ve got you covered!

During Your Session

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we can reschedule for another date that works for both of us. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and communicate with you leading up to the session.

Can I extend the session on the day-of?

As long as I don't have a following obligation, absolutely! You will just be charged for the additional time.

After Your Session

How long will it take to get my photos?

  • I typically deliver your edited images within 2-4 weeks. For larger events, like weddings, I typically deliver in 4-6 weeks. My goal is to deliver your photos as quickly as possible without compromising on quality!

Do you edit the images?

  • Yes, I professionally edit all of the photos to ensure you look your best while keeping them natural. I enhance lighting, colors, and make small edits, but I won’t alter your appearance drastically.

Do I get to choose which photos are edited?

  • To provide a consistent, polished collection, I personally curate and edit all final images before delivering them. This means you won’t need to review or select specific images ahead of time. Every photo you receive has been thoughtfully edited to meet my professional standards and reflect the quality you expect.

Do I have to order prints through you?

  • I do not offer a printing service, however I DO provide a print release so you are given the freedom to order your own prints. Print wherever, whenever, and as many times as you want!

Do you give USBs with our images on them?

  • No, my business is totally digital and waste-free! I send you a link to your beautiful gallery straight to your email. From there you simply choose the images that you wish to have. Download them straight to your computer! Then share and print as you desire.

Where can I leave my review?

  • I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Your feedback not only means the world to me, but it also helps future clients make informed decisions. Think of yourself as their “inner voice”—the more detail you provide, the more helpful it will be!
  • Thank you again for your support!

Here are a few of my favorite locations!

The Bosque (Tree & Foliage Focus)

The bosque, or down in the woody area by the Rio Grande, is absolutely stunning in the fall! Depending on the timing, the leaves shift from a soft greenish-yellow to rich, dark amber tones—creating the perfect seasonal backdrop. Whether you're looking for family portraits, engagement photos, or lifestyle shots, the combination of towering cottonwoods and the peaceful golden leaves will make your session feel magical.

The Bosque (Riverbank & Mountain Focus)

This spot is perfect for a one-hour sunset shoot! We’ll begin with the glowing willows and riverbank plants as your backdrop, and as the sun dips lower, we’ll shift to capture the majestic Sandia Mountains bathed in soft evening light.

Note: This location works best when the water levels in the Rio Grande are low, revealing the beautiful sandbar. During peak runoff season, the sandbar may be submerged, making it inaccessible. There’s also a short 10-minute walk along a compact dirt trail to reach the spot. The trail can get muddy after rain, but don’t worry! We’ll discuss location details and keep an eye on the weather leading up to your session to make sure everything is just right.

The Foothills

Located in the northeast heights of Albuquerque, the foothills offer a distinct desert charm. With rugged trails, native plants, and expansive views, this spot is perfect for those looking to capture the beauty of Albuquerque’s natural landscape. The warm tones of the desert sand, cacti, junipers, and rocky terrain look stunning at sunrise or sunset, and the nearby Sandia Mountains create a breathtaking backdrop. Whether you're planning adventurous portraits or a serene outdoor session, the foothills bring a touch of wilderness and tranquility to your photos.

The University of New Mexico, Main Campus

My favorite all-season location! In the summer, the campus is alive with lush green grass and leafy trees, while in the winter, its unique architecture and evergreen trees provide a timeless, elegant backdrop. This spot is especially popular with graduating seniors from UNM, but it’s also perfect for families—even those without ties to the university! With its mix of natural beauty and architectural charm, UNM offers something special for every type of session.

Old Town Albuquerque

Old Town is a gem with its warm, neutral stucco tones and timeless Southwestern charm. At the heart of the plaza sits a classic white gazebo, adding a touch of elegance and nostalgia to any session. Whether you're drawn to adobe walls, cozy alleyways, or sunlit courtyards, this spot offers a serene backdrop that feels both historic and inviting.
